A love affair that began with an injury at 17 has blossomed into an enriching and empowering profession for Lucy Coulson.
An Australian athletics representative in both track and field, and cross country, post ACL surgery rehabilitation was Lucy’s introduction to Pilates, and her career.
Starting with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy at La Trobe University, she went straight on to a certificate in The Pilates Method, a Classical Pilates organisation headed by Romana Kryzanowska. The training involved more than 600 hours of intense practice and teaching. Subsequently, she worked in the Polestar Pilates Rehabilitation Series in Sydney and Melbourne.
Two years later she attended teacher training at the Pilates Foundation in the UK, and in 2008 completed her Certificate IV and Diploma in Pilates. Lucy has also completed courses in women’s health, focusing on post-natal pelvic floor rehabilitation.
